Our Mini themed weekend was interrupted yesterday by a big storm, but the sun was shining once again today as we set off for Goodwood House. We were heading for the Goodwood Road Racing Club open day, an event we’ve never been able to attend before. Morris had been selected as one of a small number of cars on display in front of Goodwood House, while we had lunch inside with the Duke of Richmond and the other car owners. We weren’t sure if we should expect a whole fleet of Minis to celebrate the car’s 60th anniversary, but ultimately we were joined by only one other. The rest of the display was an eclectic mix of cars and bikes from all eras and we were lucky enough to claim a prize spot right in front of the house.
Before and after lunch I pottered around taking photos of the other cars and found some wonderful machinery to shoot. Often I find myself focusing on details because the crowds get in the way, but today I was able to photograph some complete cars too.
