We took a drive to the Museum of Power, near Maldon today, to show Morris at their annual car show. There was a wonderful array of old cars on display and I took a two camera strategy. For wider shots, I used my Olympus Trip film camera, while on my digital camera I had the equivalent of an 85mm lens for interesting details. It’ll be a while before I get the developed film negatives back so these are the close up details which caught my eye, along with the odd shot where I stepped back a few yards to get everything in the frame.
At the end of the afternoon prizes were awarded for the best cars of the day. Most of the prizes went to Minis – it is the car’s 60th anniversary, after all – but a Ford Escort Mexico won the best in show prize. To our delight Morris won ‘Best Old Lady’. Given that he’s an old car (nearly 54 years) that was very pleasing, although being declared Best Old Lady has given our male car a bit of a personality complex!
